Compositing: 'Paintings' Logo Sequence
Produced by Stephanie Stevenson, this is a ten-second animated logo sequence created using various public domain paintings carefully cut out and arranged in a 3D environment. A total of 7 different paintings were used; mostly from the Renaissance and Neoclassical eras.
One of the more challenging aspects was in creating the walls seen in the middle of the sequence. Using the painting above, the buildings either side of the image were cut out, tidied up and flattened to how they would look face-on.
For example, here is the finished asset for the wall on the right. Because it was initially shown at an angle, the lighting and direction of the details have been retained (like with the pillars). This asset was then positioned correctly in the 3D space to restore its angle, all the while developing a believable constructed environment.
